Hair and Beauty Trends for 2016

20th January 2016 in Hair, Makeup, Skincare, Trends - 3 Comments - 3 min read

Hey Beauties!

How is it almost February already? i feel like everything is going so fast. Today i wanted to do a type of post that i havent done in a while and it’s upcoming trends of the year, i’ll be showing you some things are are going to make a splash in 2016 and some things that i think might be “a thing” in the upcoming year.

Kim Kardashian Contouring

2015 was the year of contouring, everyone loved it but no more than i did because a good contour can completely change your face in the best way some might not agree but that’s the beauty of makeup and style its all subjective in the end. 2016 sees the continuation of “Strobing” moving away from contouring where strobing is all about giving the skin that really gorgeous glow to create the illusion of cheekbones lit from above

Freckles are set to be big in 2016 being one of the things that completely took over New York Fashion Week back in September for the Spring/Summer 2016 Collections. The best thing about this is, if you dont have natural freckles you can always buy the Topshop Freckle Pencil (£5) and create them yourself it’s really easy to do as well.

Dewy Skin

If you can sense a pattern 2016 seem to be about natural healthy glowing skin bascially just being the best version of you so skincare also plays a big parts in 2016 products like Nip+Fab Kale Fix (£19.95) which is all about smoothing out the skin and hydrating as much as possible. Brands like these will be pulling at the heartstrings of vegetarian and vegans alike.

People tend to say blue isnt a colour you can wear but in 2016 it is all about the colour blue from pops of colour with eyeshadow to highlighting the inner corners or perhaps the more wearable version by putting a blue eyeliner I love the Daniel Sandler Waterproof Eyeliner (£9.95) in Aqua Velvet on the lower lash line also dont forget things like the Benefit They’re Real Mascara (£19.95) in Beyond Blue

A big trend i’m really looking forward is hair getting bigger and brighter than it was in 2015, this would a great way to bring in Pantones colours of the year: Rose Quartz and Serenity both colours would be perfect in the hair but if you’re looking for something vibrant and gorgeous go for shades of teals, turquoises, baby pinks etc

Benefit Gimme Brow

Brows in 2016 will be big, bold and beautiful as always a big brow is something we all love and want the term “Brows on Fleek” as never been more true for 2016. Products like Benefit Gimme Brow will give you that gorgeous brow even if you dont have a lot of eyebrow as it fill in gaps and the fibres create volume giving the illusion of a fuller brow. Look out for eyebrow pencils like the KIKO Eyebrow Sculpt Automatic Pencil, a good dupe for the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer that recently launched.

How can i forget to mention Lips in 2016, we will be seeing lots of bright bright colours stepping away from just nudes lips will become different shades of oranges, reds etc. Personally i do love a good nude, you cant really go wrong unless you wear a grey beige death tone…you know what i mean.

What’s your favourite trend of 2016?

What do you see yourself doing?
