Anastasia Beverly Hills Dupes – Freedom Makeup Pro Brow Pomade and Duo Brow Powder

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dupes

Hey Beauties!

I came across some fantastic dupes the other day when i was in Superdrug, it was like were calling to me from across the shop haha. I think sometimes products can be really expensive and you might not be able to afford them or you might not be willing to spend that kind of money on a product.  Freedom Makeup Pro Brow Pomade and Duo Brow Powder are almost identical to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade and Brow Powder Duo

Freedom Makeup Pro Brow Pomade Review
Freedom Makeup Pro Brow Pomade in Soft Brown

I have tried these out a few times now and I can safely say I was pretty impressed, besides dipbrow I haven’t really tried out the idea of brow pomades I usually just stick to powders which is what I know. I find when using brow pomades you can get a bolder, “on fleek” brow where as with powders it tends to look a little heavy sometimes. Pro Brow Pomade feels and performs the same as Dipbrow I didn’t really notice any difference between the 2. In terms of wear both lasted quite a long time I didn’t notice any flaking or wear and tear. Pro Brow Pomade is £5 and comes in 11 different colours which is insane that amount of choice is amazing, I remember when good brow products were so hard to come by in drugstore makeup ranges they were either all too dark or too red. I was really impressed with the colour payoff, blendability and the fact that most of the colours were quite ashy, which is amazing for brows I personally prefer eyebrows to be cool tone because warm toned (red) brows never look good as they tend to look quite drawn on

Freedom Makeup Duo Brow Powder Review
Freedom Makeup Duo Brow Powder in Soft Brown

I haven’t used the Brow Powder Duo from Anastasia but ive heard all manner of great things about it so when i came across the Freedom Makeup Duo Brow Powder knowing that it looked identical i did a quick google search to see if the two were comparable in any way. I’ve been using this since i got it and have tried it on a few different people. As a brow product in its own right its great it lasts well it applies great and its lasts on the brows for a long time. Ive heard people say that  its not exactly a dupe for the ABH Brow Powder Duo because that lasts longer. Freedom Makeup Duo Brow Powder is only £4 and comes in 10 colours and i picked up Taupe and Soft Brown. Taupe would be great for blondes or people who have a lighter hair colour whereas Soft Brown would be great for someone with lighter brown hair like mine.

I have to say that i’m really impressed with a lot of the products from the Freedom Makeup line. Some of the products give you an affordable avenue to professional type products.

I did this makeup on someone yesterday using both Pro Brow Pomade and Duo Brow Powder, i think it turned out pretty great

  • I honestly never though that I would have to talk about this on here.

DON'T USE MAGIC ERASERS TO REMOVE YOUR FAKE TAN!! I saw this "tip" on twitter and researched into a little more and found tweet after tweet from people who had tried this and effectively gave themselves chemical burns!
Household cleaning products are not meant for the skin they often contain harsh ingredients that will strip away and remove things.

I feel like we need to be really careful on who you listen to when on social media. Just because someone says something it doesn't mean it's a good idea and it certainly doesn't mean that you should try something that dangerous!

  • I know it might be tempting to follow a lot of these create your own DIY skincare routine or DIY face masks but in truth it's easier and more effective to just use properly formulated skincare product.

Trying to be all natural by using food as skin care doesn't work it's not effective and its unsafe I used to believe the whole DIY thing that was until I learned more about skincare and realised it was just better to eat the food instead of putting on my face 🤣

A lot of the ingredients that people say you can use on your face aren't actually safe for the face I once saw a DIY face mask recipe that called for cinnamon, nutmeg, honey and lemon to be mixed together and applied to the face. This recipe will literally burn your face off cinnamon and nutmeg are known irritants so is Lemon which contain a high level of ascorbic acid which will irritate the skin if left on for long periods of time not to mention the fact it's photosensitising so can lead to burns if you step out into the sun.

Not to mention you have no idea of the efficacy you literally have no way of knowing if these products will work or if you're essentially just making mud pies like you did as a child 🤣 you have no idea of the possible reactions either that's why it's just safer and more effective to use actual skincare products because at least you have some sort of idea how they are going to work and if you will get reactions .

  • I see this more and more these days! Celebrities and influencers saying "this cured my skin it's amazing" but then don't talk about the fact that they get monthly facials and use acids and retinol on a daily basis. Yeah I totally believe you it's down to that crappy physical scrub you used once 🙄😒 What's worse is when I see celebs/influencers promoting supplementation that isn't even proven to work! Supplementation is literally useless unless you are deficient. No your hair won't grow to super lenghts because you a gummy once a day.

Don't get me started on these "fit teas" that are essentially expensive laxatives .

  • I get asked if oily skin should moisturise a lot and I'm here to tell you it's a resounding YES!

I know the idea of making your skin oily again doesn't sound like fun but hear me out. Stripping your skin won't do you any good our skin needs to contain oil it's essential for skin health.

By taking care of our skin and using a light moisturiser say in a gel form for example will actually help to cut down on the excess oil as your skin won't be trying to protect itself when you strip the oil away.. Its really interesting when you realise a majority of oily skin types are really dehydrated so we need to look for moisturisers that are light in texture and contain ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin etc. I personally love the @cliniqueuk Hydrating Jelly it's a great serum/moisturiser for oily skin.

Check out the 2nd episode of weekly skincare routine video! i will hopefully be making these every Saturday at 8pm UK time! make sure to keep an eye out.
  • I hate to say it but skincare is not a quick fix you can't use a product 3 times and expect miraculous results.

I see a lot of people using products sporadically and then getting annoyed when they don't see any results even though it's only been about 4 weeks of use.

While hyaluronic acid serums will show results right away you will look plump and hydrated, HA is generally an exception to the rule.

A majority of actives will take time to show results. Take retinol for example you might see a small improvement early on but it can take upto 6 months for you to notice a profound difference.

You need to be consistent in your use just because something doesn't work right away it doesn't mean it's useless, we also have to manage our expectations as well sometimes we hope for too much and are let down by the results.
Skincare can only do so much so it's important to have realistic expectations.

It might not look like much is happening to start with but you need to keep going you need to push past the idea of "this isn't working"
Think to yourself why do you think it's not working? Are you using it often enough? Are you using enough product? What are your expectations? .
