Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette Review

Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette Review

Hey Beauties!

Today im going to talk about that one budget highlighting palette that is on everyone’s faces, you see it being used in a lot of YouTube videos and i finally got my hands on it! I feel like because it is so popular it is impossible to get your hands on it, i think i went into Superdrug about 5 times before it was actually in stock.

Colour and Pigmentation

The Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette contains 4 different shades of highlighter: Ecliptic – a rosy pink cream, Hemisphere – a cool lavender which is a baked powder so this gives you a luminous sheen, Subsolar –  a white gold with a blinding shine, this is the only finely milled shimmer powder in the palette, Equinox – a bright golden peach with a metallic finish. Equinox has to be my favourite out of this palette because its so sheeny and bright its one of those highlighters you instantly notice (Equinox is also a good dupe for Anastasia Beverly Hills Peach Nectar).
The highlighters themselves are unbelievably pigmented and look beautiful on the skin, one of the highlighters has an almost foiled look which again is gorgeous. The Solstice palette is very shimmery verging on micro glitter so if you’re not one who wants a blinding highlight i would suggest something a little more subdued.

Application of these powders is really easy as they are baked so you dont need to dip your brush into the powder very hard to get a good amount of pigment, i find that using either a fan brush or something like the Girl Meets Brush Highlighting brush as this applies the power to the cheek softly so theres a more defused look.

Wear Time

Since these powders are baked i feel like once applied they start to become part of your skin so they dont look like they are just sitting on top in this respect you will find that they will last quite a while, a client i had used these on said that they had lasted the whole day of her event and didn’t move or need retouching.

You cant deny how gorgeous this palette is! The highlighters come in a golden compact with a sizeable mirror and a small brush for application but i just usually throw those out as they are never that good anyway. You’ll be pleased to know that this compact is actually pretty resilient i have dropped it a few times now and its still in one piece. (If you know me you will know how clumsy i am haha)

Price and Where to Buy

You can find the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette in Boots for £9.99, which is a fantastic deal as when do you find something as beautiful as this in the drugstore range of makeup. I would try to order this online as a lot of the time its never in stock in stores as it is so popular .

What is your favourite highlighter?
