GlamGlow has Launched a Power Rangers GravityMud Mask!

2nd October 2017 in Skincare, Treatment - 3 Comments - 3 min read

Hey Beauties!

If you were anything like me when you were young, you were obsessed with the Power Rangers I mean what 90’s kid didn’t love the Power Rangers. My mum told me that when I was young it was the only show I would sit down and watch without moving (As you can maybe tell i was a little hyper child haha)
When I heard that GlamGlow were launching a limited edition version based on my favourite childhood show I honestly had a little nerd freak out haha. It helps that the limited edition was with one of my favourite GlamGlow products GravityMud, If you haven’t already tried it out i would suggest buying one of these samples you wont be disapointed!

Limited Edition GlamGlow Power Rangers Gravity Mud!!

GravityMud is a tightening and firming treatment that can be used all over the face or just in targeted areas where you feel you need a little firming. GravityMud itself is a peel off mask but not the sort you might be used to, this isnt one of those rip your skin off treatments like those Charcoal peel off masks GravityMud itself is really easy to remove as it feel like like a rubber-y latex feel when you remove it so no pain!

GlamGlow has Launched a Power Rangers GravityMud Mask!

I tend to use gravity mud under my eyes and on the temples as i feel like this just firms everything up removing my under eye bags. Extended use of GravityMud claims to even out skin tone and firm the skin using the TEAOXIβ„’  complex and active ingredients such as marine algae plasma, red algae extract, kelp, hyaluronic acid, marshmallow and licorice leaf.

Limited Edition GlamGlow Power Rangers Gravity Mud!!

This limited edition version of the amazing GravityMud comes in 2 different versions- Goldar, which is a molten golden mask and Rita Repulsa, a bright green! I have to admit i do love the Rita Repulsa version better as the green tends to stand out more on the skin which makes for a perfect Instagram pic! not to mention i really loved the Green Ranger when growing up – Tommy Oliver i mean come am i wrong! he was a hottie haha.

After months of wondering when these would launch GlamGlow announced that these would be available at the end of September so you can now pick them up in any boots store that stocks GlamGlow or online here for Β£24* each

Did you like Power Rangers as a kid?
Which one was your favourite?

  • I honestly never though that I would have to talk about this on here.

DON'T USE MAGIC ERASERS TO REMOVE YOUR FAKE TAN!! I saw this "tip" on twitter and researched into a little more and found tweet after tweet from people who had tried this and effectively gave themselves chemical burns!
Household cleaning products are not meant for the skin they often contain harsh ingredients that will strip away and remove things.

I feel like we need to be really careful on who you listen to when on social media. Just because someone says something it doesn't mean it's a good idea and it certainly doesn't mean that you should try something that dangerous!

  • I know it might be tempting to follow a lot of these create your own DIY skincare routine or DIY face masks but in truth it's easier and more effective to just use properly formulated skincare product.

Trying to be all natural by using food as skin care doesn't work it's not effective and its unsafe I used to believe the whole DIY thing that was until I learned more about skincare and realised it was just better to eat the food instead of putting on my face 🀣

A lot of the ingredients that people say you can use on your face aren't actually safe for the face I once saw a DIY face mask recipe that called for cinnamon, nutmeg, honey and lemon to be mixed together and applied to the face. This recipe will literally burn your face off cinnamon and nutmeg are known irritants so is Lemon which contain a high level of ascorbic acid which will irritate the skin if left on for long periods of time not to mention the fact it's photosensitising so can lead to burns if you step out into the sun.

Not to mention you have no idea of the efficacy you literally have no way of knowing if these products will work or if you're essentially just making mud pies like you did as a child 🀣 you have no idea of the possible reactions either that's why it's just safer and more effective to use actual skincare products because at least you have some sort of idea how they are going to work and if you will get reactions .

  • I see this more and more these days! Celebrities and influencers saying "this cured my skin it's amazing" but then don't talk about the fact that they get monthly facials and use acids and retinol on a daily basis. Yeah I totally believe you it's down to that crappy physical scrub you used once πŸ™„πŸ˜’ What's worse is when I see celebs/influencers promoting supplementation that isn't even proven to work! Supplementation is literally useless unless you are deficient. No your hair won't grow to super lenghts because you a gummy once a day.

Don't get me started on these "fit teas" that are essentially expensive laxatives .

  • I get asked if oily skin should moisturise a lot and I'm here to tell you it's a resounding YES!

I know the idea of making your skin oily again doesn't sound like fun but hear me out. Stripping your skin won't do you any good our skin needs to contain oil it's essential for skin health.

By taking care of our skin and using a light moisturiser say in a gel form for example will actually help to cut down on the excess oil as your skin won't be trying to protect itself when you strip the oil away.. Its really interesting when you realise a majority of oily skin types are really dehydrated so we need to look for moisturisers that are light in texture and contain ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin etc. I personally love the @cliniqueuk Hydrating Jelly it's a great serum/moisturiser for oily skin.

Check out the 2nd episode of weekly skincare routine video! i will hopefully be making these every Saturday at 8pm UK time! make sure to keep an eye out.
  • I hate to say it but skincare is not a quick fix you can't use a product 3 times and expect miraculous results.

I see a lot of people using products sporadically and then getting annoyed when they don't see any results even though it's only been about 4 weeks of use.

While hyaluronic acid serums will show results right away you will look plump and hydrated, HA is generally an exception to the rule.

A majority of actives will take time to show results. Take retinol for example you might see a small improvement early on but it can take upto 6 months for you to notice a profound difference.

You need to be consistent in your use just because something doesn't work right away it doesn't mean it's useless, we also have to manage our expectations as well sometimes we hope for too much and are let down by the results.
Skincare can only do so much so it's important to have realistic expectations.

It might not look like much is happening to start with but you need to keep going you need to push past the idea of "this isn't working"
Think to yourself why do you think it's not working? Are you using it often enough? Are you using enough product? What are your expectations? .
