You guys know how fanatical i can be about SPF so when i came across this beauty i kind of lost my shit haha. SPF should be worn 365 days of the year whether its hot or cold outside even if its cloudy UVA and UVB are still around.
I often find that once people start to wear SPF its fantastic you are protecting yourself but the reapplication is always a problem, we should be reapplying every 2/3 hours when in direct sunlight (e.g. being outside) How do you apply SPF again over your makeup? the only solution is to not wear makeup but that’s not what people want to do. I have found a solution to replication and its called Brush on Block!
Brush On Block is a broad spectrum SPF 30 portable, mineral powder sunscreen. This product comes with a brush attached so you can reapply whilst on the go, I love the fact that there is something like this out there as it not only solves the need for reapplication but also the fact its a powder so it can be used to blot when you get oily during the day.
Brush on Block contains a mixture of 15% Titanium Dioxide and 12% Zinc Oxide both being physical UV filters. On the website for Brush on Block it is said to protect against UVA, UVB and IR-A Rays (Infrared) If you are wondering about Infrared its is a long wave and is said to deeply penetration into the skin but there is no proof that shows its actually harmful to the skin whereas there are many studies that show IR light can actually help out skin protect against the effects of UV light.
If I am honest, this isn’t going to cut it as your daily SPF I would apply your normal SPF as usual, I am using the Glo Skin Oil Free SPF 40 just now. I’ll apply that and then during the day I will take out Brush on Block and use that to protect myself more throughout the rest of the day.
Even though this is supposed to be a translucent powder it is going to cause a white cast on darker skin tones because of the Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide but there is good news that they do 2 darker version of this as well of course its not going to fit everyone which isn’t very good but its worth a try.
I really like the fact that Brush on Block comes with a refill so you dont have to buy the whole thing again. When you finish the product all you have to do is detach the bottom half and replace it with a refill that is only £13
Brush on Block contains 3.4g of product for £25 from dermacaredirect.com I am really loving it and i will hopefully be buying a refill when it runs out
